McCamy in the Community: Jazz Baby
Monday, December 15th, 2014

Jazz Baby is the annual fundraiser of the
Friends of Tennessee’s Babies with Special Needs, a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization that supports young children with special needs and their families.
Their target audience consists of over two thousand families in Knox and surrounding counties. They provide a Loaner Hearing Aid Bank for children with hearing loss, a resource library for families, respite care to give families a break when they need one and many free family events including fun days at the Knoxville Zoo, a Smokies ballgame, and a holiday party.

Friends of Tennessee’s Babies with Special Needs also provides Care Packages to families who have premature babies at East Tennessee Children’s Hospital.
They are totally supported by grants, personal donations and community volunteers.
McCamy Construction is proud to have been a major sponsor of the Jazz Baby event for five years. Because of our support, they are able to provide more hearing aids, library materials, adaptive equipment, and child care equipment to little ones with special needs in our community.

The fundraiser was a hit as usual. Jazz Baby is an entertaining evening of red hot Dixieland Jazz, plentiful hors d’oeuvres, a fabulous live and silent auction, and a Wine Pull. The event is hosted by Advisory Council member Bill Williams. Participants have the opportunity to hear from families of young children with special needs about ways that they have benefited from this organization.
We are thrilled to be able to make a difference in the lives of special needs children and babies.
