Meet Michael: McCamy Construction’s Job Superintendent

At McCamy Construction, we do more than build and design beautiful custom homes; we build relationships with homeowners living in Knoxville and the surrounding communities. When it’s time to add new faces to the McCamy family, we take great care to only choose the best of the best because having a good team is crucial to everything we do. Meet Michael Ryan. Michael is the Job Superintendent for McCamy Construction’s renovation division. Michael is a great asset to our team. His foresight and natural instincts on the job are some of his greatest attributes. He is a creative problem solver willing to go the extra mile for our customers. He’s been working with us for over two years and continues to improve our renovation division, earning numerous awards and striving for more. Continue reading to get to know Michael just a little bit better and find out what makes him a unique part of our team! What was your first job? Fast food restaurant Why did you decide to work for a construction company? I went to work in construction because as a young person, I loved to build things. Why did you choose to work for McCamy Construction? I worked for a subcontractor for a few years that was involved with all of McCamy Construction’s commercial jobs. Through those opportunities I got to see the integrity and unwavering path to excellence the McCamy team demanded. So, when Mr. Sam McCamy offered me the opportunity to join his team, I took it without hesitation. What’s one thing you think everyone working in your position should know? How to read blueprints What excites you about working at McCamy Construction? The creativity within our team. What’s an example of that? Our work shows it, from our backyard projects with sports courts and graffiti walls to our remodels and elegant new homes. Which McCamy finished project is your favorite and why? Our Cherokee Blvd remodel from two years ago. The finishes the homeowner chose and the design Ashley Jones presented our team came to together with precise elegance. It’s absolutely beautiful. Who or what inspires you and why? My wife and kids, my wife lives by example,in the most pure way I’ve ever been privileged to witness. My children inspire me with their imagination and unwillingness to quit. What do you enjoy doing? Spending time with my family What was the last book you read or one you? Instinct by T.D. Jakes What song best describes your outlook on life? “Call of the Wild” by Chris Ledoux If you could only eat one food for a year, what would it be? Chicken What might someone be surprised to know about you? I survived a house fire. What do you wish other people knew about McCamy Construction? The length to which our team goes to give our clients exactly what they want. What’s the best thing to happen since you started working with McCamy Construction? We’ve become a very efficient team.
