Award-Winning McCamy Construction Reorganizes for Growth
Company leverages rapidly-gained market position
Knoxville, TN, July 17, 2014—Award-winning McCamy Construction is reorganizing to leverage its rapid rise in the construction business since 2011.
McCamy, which focuses on residential construction, renovation and commercial renovation, received the 2014 Metropulse Best of Knoxville General Contractor award. Previously McCamy received Cityview Magazine’s Best of The Best Contractor Award in 2012, and the magazine’s 2013 best remodeling contractor.
“McCamy Construction is on track for a record breaking year, so we’ve reorganized to focus on our growth,” President Sam McCamy III said. “We’re sharpening design, estimating and project supervision personnel and processes to increase our capacity and ensure on time performance and quality.”
McCamy will be taking on more responsibility identifying and overseeing the company’s growth opportunities and profitability.
To advance the company’s new initiative, Grant McMahan has been named to the position of Vice President of Construction, and will oversee all residential and commercial construction projects. McMahan, a graduate of The Savannah College of Art and Design, was previously responsible for McCamy’s fastest growing division, renovations. During McMahan’s tenure, renovation services grew from residential updates to cover a broad spectrum of simple to complex commercial and residential renovations.
Ashley Jones has been promoted to the position of Director of Design and Estimating.
“Ashley provides outstanding design skills along with strong estimating skills and exceptional customer consultation,” McCamy said. “Grant and Ashley offer a unique blend of creative skills to help customers envision what they want and execute with precision.”
In addition, Jennifer Garland has been promoted to the Director of Administrative Services. Garland oversees project accounting, materials expediting, accounts payable, customer invoicing and collections in her new position.
McCamy Construction’s reorganization follows former Vice President Hunter Purnell’s move to the commercially-focused construction firm Johnson & Galyon, one of the oldest and largest firms in the region.
“Hunter Purnell made a significant contribution to McCamy during his time with us, and we wish him well in his new endeavor,” McCamy said.
