If you’re a Tennessee native, you don’t need us to tell you that there’s been a major influx of new residents making their way to the Volunteer State. Folks from all over are choosing to relocate for the lack of state income tax, lower cost of living, relaxed lifestyle and more. The past few years have brought many custom home builds for clients moving to the area, especially in Rarity Bay and Tennessee National. In this month’s project feature, we’re highlighting our California clients who chose McCamy to make their Tennessee dreams come true.
Tennessee Dreaming
After 26 years of living on the coast of California just outside of Los Angeles, our clients were ready to trade the San Pedro sands for something new in their retirement years. They were considering a move to Florida, Palm Springs, or Arizona, but a trip to visit family in Tennessee made their decision quick and easy. As soon as they drove through the gates at Rarity Bay, the horses, landscape, and lake views felt like home sweet home to them.
These future custom home owners spoke with nine different builders after making the decision to build their dream home in Rarity Bay. McCamy president, Grant McMahan, was the only one they felt a connection with. “We liked his honesty, experience, easy going attitude and how he seemed to relate to us, unlike any of the other builders we spoke to,” they explained. Our on-staff designer also stood out to them. Building a custom home can be a daunting process, and these homeowners understood the importance of a knowledgeable and personable team to help along the way.
Moving in Style
Our California clients knew they wanted a little bit of home in their new build. Hints of contemporary design merge with rustic touches that make this home a perfect marriage of West Coast and East Tennessee. McCamy designer, Ashley, helped them make selections that would achieve the look they were after. A show stopping fireplace, sleek fixtures and large windows bring in contemporary design, while lots of natural wood and stone give this home some Tennessee twang.
Worth the Wait
Moved in and getting settled, these homeowners are loving their finished new place. “We are so happy and pleased with the home and both feel it is much better than we imagined it would be. The quality, open floor plan and details are second to none! We love it and are very happy with the results,” they bragged.
When asked the best part of working with McCamy, they couldn’t name just one! They loved having a designer to help them through the selection process. “Ashley’s experience, organization skills and personality made a stressful situation go very smoothly, and she made it easy and fun.”
They also bragged about their superintendent, Craig. “He had such a calm demeanor, is very experienced, and worked with us to be sure we were satisfied in any way possible. He was a great communicator, and would return a call or text almost immediately. He was always honest and provided us with accurate information daily.” Between Ashley, Craig and Grant, they never felt in the dark about their build and were able to enjoy the experience with as little stress as possible!
We loved getting to be part of bringing this couple to Tennessee and couldn’t be more thrilled that they are loving their home. The decision to move across the country and entrust us with the place they will spend the next chapter of their lives is one we don’t take lightly.
