Another Stunning McCamy Construction Transformation!
Built in the 1940’s, this lovely Sequoyah Hills craftsman home was ready for another change. The kitchen had been updated in the past, but it was time for a total renovation. You can see photos of the kitchen before the renovation below.
Initially, we met extensively with the homeowners to find out exactly what they wanted for their new kitchen.
Part of what we do really well at
McCamy Construction is listen to the homeowners as we work with them through the design process. We want to know what they are really hoping to see in the end result.
Re-designing an existing space is different than creating a room in a custom home build.
For example, in this home we looked carefully at the placement of the kitchen in the home and the traffic patterns in and through the kitchen.
We also paid close attention to the features that were already an integral part of the kitchen, such as the spacious pass-through window, the island, the tongue and groove ceiling and the stacked double ovens.
We were excited! For this renovation, the homeowners wanted a complete change…From cluttered and dated, to clean and bright!
This meant that everything had to go, down to the studs: flooring, cabinets, appliances, drywall.
Modern, bright, and practical were some of the words we were hearing as we worked with the homeowners to design their new kitchen.
The homeowners had the enjoyment of making important design choices for their new kitchen: new custom cabinets, beautiful travertine flooring, striking granite countertops and updated lighting.
We also made a few changes to the previous kitchen design, extending the island for more working space and relocating the ovens for a better traffic flow. These small alterations would make a huge difference for the needs of their family.
The finished masterpiece: a completely transformed kitchen which changed the ambiance of the whole house.
