Meet Ashley, Interior Designer at McCamy Construction

Why did you decide to work for a construction company?
As an Interior Designer, working with a home builder/construction company was an easy decision. I have always worked with my clients on interior selections for the home, so it was a seamless transition to also work with them on the exterior selections. Being able to work with a client on a new home or remodel from beginning to end is definitely a rewarding experience.
Why did you choose to work for McCamy Construction?
I had worked with Hunter Purnell and another employee in the past, and when the opportunity to work with them at McCamy Construction came along, it was a great fit. After meeting with Sam McCamy, I was very excited about the vision he had for the company, and the opportunity to work with him and his team. Sam has an enthusiasm that is contagious, which makes working for him a true blessing.
What’s one thing you think everyone working in your position should know?
Listening to a homeowner and determining their needs and wants for their new space and then implementing their dreams into reality within budget is really important.
What excites you about working at McCamy Construction?
The opportunity to work with homeowners to help create their dream home excites me the most. Your home is typically your biggest investment, and to have someone put their trust and vision in your hands to create a place that they call home is a big responsibility and honor. I love when it all comes together and they can start to see all the individual selections come together into their home.
What’s an example of that?
Last year we had 3 custom homes finish within months of each other. I absolutely loved working with each of these couples, getting to know them and their families. To be able to help them create a space where they will make years of memories is so rewarding.
Who or what inspires you?
Jesus Christ inspires me the most.
Why do you feel that way?
He has blessed me with a supportive and loving family, wonderful friends, and great opportunities. Each day is a new beginning that He has given me to share with others and do the things I love.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I enjoy being with family and friends, especially my niece and nephew, working with the youth at my church, working out with Crossfit, traveling with friends, doing fun projects around my house, and being outdoors.
What might (someone) be surprised to know about you?
I was a big tomboy growing up and I am known as quite the handy man among my friends.
What do you wish other people knew about McCamy Construction?
We have so much fun working together. Everyone at McCamy Construction puts pride into their work. We truly enjoy our jobs. If you choose us to build or remodel your home, you will have fun and we will make the process easy and enjoyable. What’s the best thing to happen since you started working with McCamy Construction?
I’ve seen great overall growth in myself and the company. It has been exciting to watch our company grow in team members, the number of projects, and the size of projects. I have had some really great opportunities to work on some amazing projects. There is definitely more community recognition of our name and our work.
