Hot summer days have us in the mood to talk all things outdoors–especially pretty spaces like this one! If you’ve been following McCamy for a while, you may remember seeing photos of this outdoor fireplace project. A few years ago, the owners of this 1920s Sequoyah home worked with McCamy for the first time to build an outdoor oasis for the cooler months. Now, it was time to create a space that the whole family can enjoy when the Knoxville sun is blazing!
Without any shade, they weren’t enjoying their beautiful backyard as much as they wanted to. McCamy was finishing up some indoor projects for the homeowners when they introduced the idea of a covered porch addition. It was important to them that the addition keep with the design of the original home and not look like an “add on”. They worked with Stephen Hackney Landscape Architecture to produce the plans, and McCamy got to work!“The patio project went up fast! We were out of town for the beginning stages and were shocked at the progress they made while we were gone. The team was at our house as much as they could be, weather permitted. We were in shade within weeks of starting the project!” the homeowner reflected.
Now, their backyard can be enjoyed all year long. “We LOVE our new addition. The patio was always there, However, we rarely used it because it was way too hot. Now with the cover, we are outside in that space all the time!”McCamy has loved being a part of bringing these homeowners’ dreams to life, and we’re excited to get started on a couple bathroom renovations in this home soon. “We were very pleased with the McCamy team on this project yet again. They were very transparent the entire time and once they started, they were there consistently.” For more outdoor space inspiration, check out our past projects here, and make sure to follow us on Pinterest to start saving up inspo for your future projects!
