McCamy Custom Outdoor Living Designs for Every New Home
Wednesday, May 31st, 2017
At McCamy Construction, we believe that your outdoor living space should be just as enjoyable as your indoor living space. With summer just around the corner, we thought now would be a great time to feature some of our favorite outdoor living projects to give you an idea of what to include when drafting the blueprints for your new home.
A Place for Gathering
If you love to entertain, having enough space for guests to enjoy good food and conversation is most likely at the top of your list. Building a gathering place outdoors allows you to maximize your entertaining space and enjoy some fresh air.
As part of a
larger project, we built a beautiful screen porch for a home in Whittington Creek from the ground up. The screen porch design included a custom-built fireplace, a wood paneled ceiling, and grilling kitchen. The white trim and dark stain contrasted with with the brick and stone really well to create a look that was sleek and modern, yet homey and traditional.
If you prefer more of an “indoor” look, check out this screen porch we designed with vaulted beam ceilings that added a different dimension to the outdoor space.
Looking for something more open? This outdoor patio was built with rustic beams and a ceiling with skylights overhead. No walls or windows, just wide open space.

If you want to get rid of the ceiling all together, the
outdoor living space that we designed for this home in Sherwood Oaks might be more your style. We built custom seating around a circular fire pit, perfect for a casual get together when the weather is nice.
A Place for Grilling
You can’t entertain very well without good food! We incorporate outdoor kitchens and grilling stations in almost all of our outdoor living designs for new custom homes.
The home in Whittington Creek that we mentioned previously included a grilling kitchen complete with a fridge, range hood, and bar sink. The countertop we installed was a very unique choice (angola silver leathered granite), the appliances were built into the custom painted brick cabinetry, and the addition of the Coyote grill made this outdoor kitchen one-of-a-kind.
This outdoor kitchen area is one of our favorites. Not only does it have an all-inclusive set up (fridge, range hood, grill, sink), it also has a bar with additional countertop space and seating arranged underneath modern hanging lights.

Revisiting the outdoor living space we built for the home in Sherwood Oaks, we built a custom grilling station to the right of the seating area. This grilling station includes a fridge and a grill on one side and bar seating on the other.
A Place for Play
It’s always exciting for us to build an outdoor living space for our new custom homes, especially when those designs include room for play! Take a look at how we’ve added a splash of fun to these outdoor living spaces!

What’s Next?
Earlier this year we announced an outdoor pool pavilion we’re building for a home in Sequoyah Hills. Take a look at the progress we’ve made since breaking ground!
