McCamy Construction founder, Sam McCamy, was a firm believer that “it’s all about the backyard!” so we’re kicking off pool season with a project feature that he would approve of. Nestled off the wooded, windy roads of Riverbend, this home was the perfect place for our clients to grow as they made it their own. When it was time to tackle the backyard and exterior, they had a vision, and McCamy helped bring that vision to life.
Poolside Upgrade
The project began with an upgrade for the existing pool. New stone pavers on the pool deck made a drastic improvement to begin with. New finishes for the pool and curved wall tie in with the home’s creamy stucco finish. The pavilion and firepit addition came next. This new structure provides a shaded spot to relax while the kids swim or run around in the backyard. It’s the perfect addition for entertaining on a hot, summer day, watching the Vols play or roasting marshmallows by the fire, creating year-round enjoyment for this family!
Porch Pick Me Up
The next phase of this project gave their back porch a major overhaul. What was a simple covered deck is now an indoor-outdoor living space that seamlessly ties the entire project together. The tongue and groove ceiling and dark trim mirror the pavilion, making both spaces feel cohesive and intentional. Their new porch was designed as an outdoor living + dining space. Centered around the stone fireplace and outdoor TV is a cozy seating area, and an outdoor dining table is the perfect spot for family dinners overlooking their new backyard. Vaulted ceilings and thin iron railing keep the space feeling open and integrated with the pool and pavilion areas.
Front Door Facelift
The front of the home was updated as well with a new front door, trim, and portico awning. These minor upgrades gave this home some major curb appeal, taking what was existing and making it a little bit more special. Instead of replacing the windows, new trim makes them look brand new. The new front door and overhang make for a much grander entrance and giving this front elevation a whole new look.
In the end, the potential that these clients saw in their home was brought to life, creating a backyard that they can proudly share with friends and family all year long. “It feels like a new house, and we couldn’t be happier with how it all turned out,” our clients shared. They love that it’s nearly impossible to determine where the old ends and the new begins. Every bit of the backyard looks like it was built together with cohesion considered in every selection.
