Picking Up Brooms: What Real Customer Service Looks Like
Monday, April 17th, 2017
When you build a new custom home, there are a lot of things to consider when deciding between construction companies. While years of experience and quality of work are certainly things you want to think about, there’s another factor that is just as important: customer service. Now, when you think about customer service, you might think good customer service is mostly about how well a company treats you, the customer. While you wouldn’t be wrong, there’s another aspect to customer service that is often overlooked. True customer service is about more than treating customers well. At McCamy Construction, we love what we do. We love to build and we love the homeowners we build for and we put that passion into everything we do. We were recently encouraged by a story one of our homeowners told us after we completed his new home addition. We were in the middle of building an addition onto a home in Sequoyah Hills when the homeowner informed us that he and his family would be hosting several out-of-town guests for a few days. As you can imagine, when you’re in the middle of an extensive project like this one, there are tools and building materials in various places around the worksite and lots and lots of dust. To put it simply, it’s very difficult for a home to be “guest friendly” while it’s being renovated. However, we knew that it was important for the home to be in good shape before the guests arrived, so we went ahead and got a team together to clean and put things in order. We dusted, swept, mopped, and did a walk through to make sure everything was in order before we left. What really surprised the homeowner was that the people who helped out were not only the contractors responsible for the build, but the McCamy team. Meaning, the President of company, the Director of Design, and the Director of Administrative Services were not above picking up a broom or a sponge and lending a hand. “I’ve never seen anyone work so together as a team.” – Sequoyah Hills HomeownerAt McCamy Construction, we call ourselves a “different kind of construction company,” because we’re intentionally not like other custom home building and renovation companies.
