At McCamy Construction, we aim to create the best of the best for our clients. We always strive for excellence in all that we do, beginning with a vision and executing with care. We take pride in bringing dream homes to life, working with our clients every step of the way to ensure a stress-free process and exceptional results. The following three custom homes are our most recently finished projects. Each one unique in its own way, and all a pleasure to build.
Kensington Open Kitchen Custom

Kengsington custom
The West Knoxville home was built in the Kensington subdivision off Northshore Road. There were a lot of neat features in this home, but we particularly enjoyed building the kitchen, due to its distinct design. We combined an open floor plan with a kitchen that includes open shelving, a popular trend in
2015 kitchens.

Open and airy kitchens are the hot new trend!
The combination of open shelving and painted cabinets brings about an airy, more personal feel. The solid quartz countertops add to the kitchen’s overall richness and the stainless steel appliances complete the look. This design provides easy access and sight lines from the kitchen into the living room, eat-in kitchen table and the screened in porch all from the kitchen sink!
Sequoyah Hills Craftsman Cottage
This custom home was built on one of the few remaining vacant lots in Sequoyah Hills. The client wanted a Craftsman look, but their lot provided a challenge for the floorplan because how narrow it is. However, challenges are just opportunities, so because we were limited by the square footage, we employed space-saving tactics, such as using an open floor plan, and a lot of creative thinking to build our client the perfect home.

Sequoyah Hills custom home, ideal for any retiree.
An ideal floor plan for anyone looking to retire, we built the home with a master on the main (the master bedroom on the first floor and two guest rooms upstairs. The kitchen is easily accessible from all areas of the home. We install lots of windows, including the small dormers upstairs, which allowed natural light to open up the space. This craftsman cottage included custom trim work which added to the overall style of the home. Additional amenities included: wider plank hardwood floors, a craftsman-style front porch with porch swing, a private screened back porch, and complete dry storage under the porch for a lawn mower or other equipment.
Nora’s Path – Parade Home

Nora’s Path custom, our Parade Home.
A Parade of Homes entry, this Knoxville home was built in Nora’s Path, a fairly new West Knoxville subdivision near Hardin Valley. This home was constructed using an open floor plan. With the kitchen being the hub of the home, the subsequent living spaces created a natural flow, making this layout extremely functional.

Lots of space for a growing family!
Designed with space for leisure in mind, we constructed a vaulted T&G ceiling, perfect for fall ball games, and a sizable upstairs, more than enough room for a growing family, including a three car garage. We built a screen porch with a fireplace off the back patio, which allowed the residents to comfortably enjoy their backyard’s great view.

My dream every since I was little kid has been to build my own custom home. The idea of being able to have control over how my home looks like really excites me. I still have a ways to go before I can afford to do something like this, but it’s pictures and articles like these that give me ideas and motivate me to one day make my dream become a reality.
