Happy homeowners in Sequoyah are looking forward to spending this summer in their new outdoor living space with a view of the river. The concept for a more relaxing outdoor space took root when the wife saw a hanging bed swing at a friend’s house on the lake. “That was my must-have and it was really the piece that started the whole project,” she said. “We already had a pool and pool deck,” the homeowner said, “We also had a wooden pergola, but it didn’t provide enough shade, and during the summer being out by the pool could be brutal. We wanted an area that would provide shade, and we knew we wanted some sort of fan and mister combination as well as a fireplace to make the space more enjoyable throughout most of the year.” Starting from the ground up, McCamy designed the plans in-house and worked with the homeowners on the intricate details and overall layout. Construction materials included stone that matched the house so that the structure would look as if it had always been part of the property. Plans also included updating the pool with new stone coping rails and maintenance on the deck. The new cabana living space includes:- Gas radiant heater mounted overhead
- Wood fireplace
- Sound system
- Misting fans, which entailed running plumbing
- Anti-mosquito system
- Grilling area
- A shelf of LED lights around top of cabana, which can be dimmed at night
- A swinging bed with a view to the river
