Monday, March 30th, 2015
Why did you decide to work for a construction company?
I started working with McCamy Construction over six years ago as their trim carpenter, when the opportunity for employment came up to join the team I took it.
Why did you choose to work for McCamy Construction?
I knew McCamy was a relatively young company with energetic employees and I wanted to be part of the team, but the fun and family like atmosphere and staff sealed the deal.
What’s one thing you think everyone working in your position should know?
Even though you may be in “charge” of your job site… There are so many factors you can’t actually control. You have to keep thinking ahead and go out of your way to help the people surrounding you, want to help you in return.
What excites you about working at McCamy Construction?
The opportunity to help and be part of growing McCamy Construction. Sounds cheesy, but I can definitely see this team going somewhere and I can’t wait to see where it goes.
What’s an example of that?
This team is always willing to make and ask for suggestions or bounce ideas off of each other, which in turn brings together each of our own skill sets, schooling background, previous employment, and construction experience to achieve better solutions.
What was the last book you read (or recommended?)
“
The Total Money Makeover”, by Dave Ramsey
What was your first job?
Going door to door raking leaves and mowing lawns, at age 9 or 10. First real job was working at Payless Cashways, a lumber yard where I grew up in Lincoln, Ne
Who or what inspires you?
My kids
Why do you feel that way?
It’s just fun and fulfilling to teach them as we go….
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Tinkering around the house and playing with my family and neighbors (cards, board games, darts, badminton, horse shoes, Lego’s, walks though the pasture, you name it)
What might (someone) be surprised to know about you?
Starting in elementary school and into college, I danced Ballet for 13 years.
What do you wish other people knew about McCamy Construction?
The level of honesty and integrity we use in all of our processes.
What’s the best thing to happen since you started working with McCamy Construction?
Getting to work somewhere, where your ideas are heard and asking for help is not frowned upon.
