Home Heart Transplant
Tuesday, February 28th, 2023
They say the kitchen is the heart of a home. It’s where family gathers to create memories that last a lifetime and meals that don’t last long enough. When a kitchen isn’t functional, the entire home won’t function the same. This was the case for our latest renovation clients. They moved into their new Choto home and quickly learned that their kitchen wasn’t built to serve a family of six. It was time for some serious rehabilitation in the heart of the home (a heart transplant, if you will) so they called in McCamy to make it happen.
Unlimited Possibilities
Their friendship with McCamy designer, Ashley Jones, made the decision to work with us a no brainer. They only considered McCamy for the project, and Ashley’s involvement soon became the best part for our clients. “She and McCamy made our project feel like a priority for them, even knowing they absolutely had other ongoing projects. Ashley ran the project superbly. She stayed in constant communication with us and managed all facets,” reflected the homeowners.
Their goal for the renovation was to stick with the original footprint of the kitchen, and make it more functional for their family. “Ashley and Grant studied our house to determine what was/was not possible and the final design far exceeded the possibilities we thought we were limited to at the beginning,” the client explained. They decided that an open concept between the dining room and the kitchen would serve them well, and a larger pantry would be ideal. The McCamy team came up with a plan to make their ideas come to life, and got to work!
Kitchen Rehab
The renovation started like every good project does: demo. Our team removed the old cabinetry and created a larger cased opening between the kitchen and dining area. New cabinets from Dixie Kitchen were installed in a light gray color to bring some light into the space. The style of the cabinetry gives a more current feel, but some traditional elements kept the kitchen true to the original design of the home. An extended island with a dark gray quartz countertop was installed, creating plenty of work space and room for the family to gather.
The bones of the kitchen improved, it was finally time for finishing touches. Glass pendants, marble backsplash and a farm sink give the space some style. The homeowners wanted a kitchen that was timeless and not too trendy, and their selections reflect that thanks to Ashley. “Our project would not have been possible without a designer. My wife and I went through all project selections with Ashley. She guided us through the many options we had to consider. She listened to our input on what we were looking for and did not settle until we were happy,” our clients praised.
A Home Renewed
The finished product is a kitchen that our clients are thrilled to be in. “It feels like a new house,” they say, and couldn’t be happier with the quality and look of the work McCamy did. “Without a doubt we recommend McCamy for this type of renovation project. We are very happy.”
The heart of their home got the McCamy treatment, transforming the way they live in their house. That’s the power of a functional space, and having that stylish flair doesn’t hurt either!
