The Heart of Family
Tuesday, January 30th, 2024

If Minnesota is too cold, and Hilton Head is too far away from family, our January featured clients decided that Tennessee National was juuuust right. After six years of enjoying retirement off the coast of South Carolina, these clients desired to be closer to their kids and grandkids. They didn’t want to give up the luxuries of their gated golf course community, so they began looking for a similar neighborhood in East Tennessee.
Of all the wonderful developments in the area, they fell in love with the new amenities and community spirit at Tennessee National. McCamy’s presence in Rarity Bay is what initially attracted them to our team. They appreciated the quality of our builds, and after investigating several builders, they ultimately decided McCamy was the one for them!
A Personalized Foundation

They had several priorities when embarking on a custom home build, starting with a house plan that optimized the topography of their lot. A walkout basement was the perfect way to enjoy maximum space and beautiful views from every room.
Their love of cooking, wine, and family was the “foundation” of their home dreams. A luxurious kitchen was top priority, and they went with black and white cabinetry, paneled ceilings and a wet bar that seamlessly integrates into the great room. A large butler’s pantry is what keeps their beautiful kitchen neat and tidy.

This large space, hidden by antique French doors, serves as a prep kitchen for these culinary lovers. The design includes countertop space for small kitchen appliances, more cabinet storage, and plenty of shelving for food. This luxury affords them a convenient way to prepare meals while entertaining, hiding the mess behind beautiful closed doors.
Gathering From Far and Wide
The kitchen opens up to a great room with picturesque East Tennessee views and a covered porch that spans the entire rear of the home. Vaulted ceilings to frame their view and a cozy, contemporary fireplace made this the perfect place to be snowed in this month! More importantly, the open floor plan creates a gathering space for the entire family to come together.

Downstairs in the basement, more gathering spaces for family and their love of culinary experiences continues. These clients are major wine-lovers and desired a spacious wine cellar to store their collection. This temperature-controlled room gives an old-world look to this brand new home. Another antique door is the portal to this rustic space, with natural stone surrounding the entrance, brick walls on the interior, and rustic elements throughout.

Magic in the Details
The details of this home are what makes it so special to the homeowners. Trim details on the walls and ceilings of this home help create a custom look that is unique to the clients’ personal style. They love a blend of old and new, and were pleased that the McCamy team allowed them to incorporate those reclaimed elements.

They praised the craftsmanship of McCamy’s work and are loving their new home. Despite a snow storm that was unseasonable for our winters in the South, they’re thrilled to be Tennessee National residents! It wouldn’t be “home sweet home” without McCamy, and we’re having so much fun bringing homes to life in Tennessee National.
