McCamy Construction Vice President Hunter Purnell Awarded 40 Under 40 2014
Friday, January 10th, 2014
Starting in 2007, the
Knoxville Business Journal has recognized 40 professionals under 40 years old, as leaders in their companies and catalysts for change in our community. Earlier this week they announced the 40 under 40 for 2014 and our own
Hunter Purnell was one of the honorees.
We’re very proud of Hunter and his accomplishment, he works incredibly hard each day making sure our customers expectations are exceeded in their business and in their homes. We are also very proud of our team members who’ve worked hard to deliver exceptional quality to our clients.
Ultimately, our team gets the job done – day in and day out.
Here’s how Hunter’s 40 under 40 profile in the Knoxville Business Journal describes him:
“Hunter Purnell decided to go into the construction business at what many in the industry would say was just about the worst time to do so.
“Everyone else was running away and I was running toward it,” says Purnell of his decision to leave a career in logistics and transportation to work for a general contractor in the middle of the recession. “I just felt called to it. Did I know the market was going to come around and we would find success? No. But I would have always second guessed myself if I didn’t try.”
Today, Purnell runs the day-to-day operations of McCamy Construction and oversees the customer experience from start to finish.
“People make you part of their family or business,” he says. “They’re depending on us and we get to do something great for them. It’s so fulfilling when you get to the end and get to hand over the key to this family or business owner.”
